THE SKUNK*: Skunks are most well-known for their anal scent glands, which are commonly used as a defense mechanism from predators. These glands produce a mixture of sulfur-containing chemicals, which have a very disgusting smelling odor. If your pet runs into a skunk, and makes it feel threated, it can spray with a high degree of accuracy up to 10 feet. Beyond the smell, the compounds can also cause irritation to your pet’s skin and even temporary blindness. And, as we all know, the skunk’s smell is so potent, humans can notice it from miles away. Unfortunately for us, skunks are actually quite common in suburban areas, so when your dog has a close encounter, it can leave you with a smelly mess on your hands. That’s where De-Skunk comes in handy. It’s best to always keep one De-Skunk at home, just in case of an emergency.
NOTE: If your pet has been in wooded areas, you should carefully check for ticks. Many ticks carry dangerous diseases that can harm both you and your pet, and should be removed promptly.
